Iron Bridge House is a well known Landmark Trust property in the shadow of Britain's best known industrial monument. The building is the complete establishment of a substantial grocer, with a large house over a double-fronted shop, with offices behind, storerooms and stables to the rear. From the substantial cellars a tunnel used to run to the bank of the River Severn, up which, until the late nineteenth century, the cargoes were brought by barge.
The trust are gradually improving the property and during this latest phase Cbs worked with Peter Napier and the trust's buildings surveyor Richard Burton to complete a demanding schedule of works within a very tight programme and to an agreed budget.
