Situated close to the site of a medieval castle this Grade I listed Church dates in part to the 12th century with the tower being dated from the 14th century. The tower, constructed principally of local red sandstone, houses a bell chamber with 6 bells and a late 19th century clock.

The project was developed to deal principally with the Instability of the parapet masonry due to rust jacking by iron cramps. Cbs.ltd dismantled and rebuilt in the region of 32 tonnes of tower parapet masonry to allow for the removal of existing iron cramps and the insertion of new structural stainless steel. In addition Cbs carried out the following works:

  • Repair of tower hipped timber roof structure
  • Re-slate tower roof and new lead hips and flashings
  • New bitumastic weathering to stone parapet gutter and flat roof
  • New lead flat roof to tower stair turret
  • New tower door and frame
  • New slate roof to boiler house
